Austrian pianist and composer Kiron Atom Tellian has emerged as one of the most compelling young artists of his generation, praised for his poetic imagination, depth of expression, and commanding stage presence. His performances have captivated audiences across Europe, the United States, South America, and Israel, and his career continues to gain international momentum.
Recent and upcoming highlights of the 2025–26 season include recital debuts at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater, a concerto debut with the San Diego Symphony, and a European tour with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, with performances at major venues including the Großes Festspielhaus Salzburg. He also tours Israel with the Beer Sheva Symphoniette, with additional recitals taking him across the U.S., including appearances at Sunday Musicale, Hayden’s Ferry Chamber Music Series, and the Buffalo Chamber Music Society.
Tellian has performed at distinguished venues such as the Vienna Musikverein, Vienna Konzerthaus, Konzerthaus Blaibach, and Villa Senar (The Rachmaninoff Foundation), and has appeared with orchestras including the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, the El Paso Symphony, and the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn. He has been featured at renowned festivals including the Verbier Festival, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and the Kulturfest im Schloss Walpersdorf.
Winner of the 2024 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions, Tellian is a YCA Jacobs Fellow and is managed worldwide by Young Concert Artists. He is also a laureate of numerous international competitions across Europe, Asia, and the United States. Notable distinctions include the First Prize and Haydn Prize at the 17th Ettlingen International Piano Competition, Grand Prize and special awards at the Savshinsky Competition in St. Petersburg, and top honors in three categories at the Rosalyn Tureck International Bach Competition in New York. In 2023, he won the Grand Prize, Best Mazurka, and Best Etude at the Nashville International Chopin Competition, followed by First Prize at the 2024 Borderland Chopin International Competition.
Also active as a composer, Tellian’s works span solo, chamber, and orchestral music. His most recent orchestral work premiered at the Vienna Musikverein in March 2025.
Born in Vienna, Tellian began studying piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna at the age of seven, making his orchestral debut at nine. He is currently finishing his Bachelor’s degree at The Juilliard School, where he studies with Emanuel Ax, having previously studied with Sergei Babayan. He is a proud recipient of the prestigious Kovner Fellowship, which covers all expenses related to his studies. He currently resides in New York City.
